Strategic Purpose

This Strategic Plan serves as the roadmap for Modesto Youth Soccer Association / Ajax United’s continued growth as a player-centered, development-driven, and competitively intentional club. It aligns directly with our Mission, Vision, Philosophy, and Core Values and ensures clarity, consistency, and accountability across all levels of the organization.


Mission (Strategic Alignment)

To foster a lifelong love for soccer by providing a positive, inclusive, and development-driven environment that supports players socially, emotionally, physically, and competitively while offering a clear pathway from recreation to elite levels.


Vision (Strategic Alignment)

To be a leading community-based soccer club that sets the standard for player development, character, and competitive excellence, empowering players at every stage of their journey.


Strategic Pillars (2025–2030)


1. Player Development (Player-First Model)

Goal:
Deliver a consistent, age-appropriate, and long-term development model that supports players at every stage—from introductory participation to elite competition.

Key Strategic Actions:

  • Implement a club-wide development curriculum aligned across recreational, grassroots, competitive, and elite platforms.
  • Establish clear development benchmarks focused on readiness, not speed.
  • Utilize internal evaluation tools to track technical, tactical, physical, and psychological growth.
  • Reinforce a learning environment that encourages creativity, decision-making, and confidence.
  • Maintain strong emphasis on enjoyment and engagement, particularly in early ages.

Strategic Principle:
Development is measured by preparation and progression—not results alone.


2. Coaching Excellence & Education

Goal:
Build and retain a highly educated, aligned, and accountable coaching staff committed to both player development and club values.

Key Strategic Actions:

  • Establish a club coaching framework that ensures consistency of methodology and standards.
  • Support continuous coach education through licensing, mentorship, and internal workshops.
  • Create a structured coach mentorship pathway for emerging coaches.
  • Conduct regular coaching evaluations aligned with club philosophy and core values.
  • Promote diversity, leadership development, and professionalism across the coaching staff.

3. Competitive Pathway & Performance Standards

Goal:
Provide intentional and transparent competitive pathways that challenge players appropriately while honoring long-term development.

  • Align competition levels with player readiness, commitment, and developmental stage.
  • Prepare players for higher-level opportunities, including collegiate and advanced platforms.

4. Facilities, Environment & Player Experience

Goal:
Provide safe, high-quality, and development-focused environments that enhance learning, competition, and community pride.

Key Strategic Actions:

  • Continue investment in field quality, safety, and accessibility.
  • Improve training and game-day environments to support focus, learning, and enjoyment.
  • Explore opportunities for year-round training solutions and shared-use facilities.
  • Ensure all environments reflect professionalism, respect, and inclusion.

5. Financial Sustainability & Accessibility

Goal:
Ensure long-term financial health while preserving access and opportunity for families across the community.

Key Strategic Actions:

  • Diversify revenue streams through sponsorships, partnerships, and events.
  • Expand scholarship and financial assistance programs.
  • Offer tiered programming aligned with different levels of commitment and cost.
  • Practice transparent financial planning and responsible growth.

Goal:
Strengthen Modesto Youth Soccer Association / Ajax United’s identity as a trusted, values-driven, and development-focused club.

Key Strategic Actions:

  • Align branding and messaging with the club’s mission, vision, and philosophy.
  • Share meaningful stories that highlight development, effort, and character.
  • Enhance digital presence to support communication, education, and engagement.
