The National Premier Leagues (NPL) is a nationwide competition platform designed to raise the standards of competitive youth soccer across the country.
The NPL is a national competition platform created to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape by:
extending developmental principles supported by U.S. Soccer into more age groups and member clubs
linking competition with player development and scouting pathways
providing meaningful weekly competition culminating in the NPL Finals
NPLs are leagues unified under a single national competition platform and based on a shared technical framework. Specifically, the NPL provides a platform:
focused on long-term player development
for top youth soccer clubs in the country, enabling consistent, meaningful high-level matches thoughtfully scheduled with strong training-to-game balance to reduce calendar congestion
integrated with the id² Program, including Player Development Programs (PDPs) in select markets, working closely with U.S. Soccer for player identification and coach development
designed and led by member clubs, reflecting club-driven needs
offering a path to qualify for NPL Finals and the Elite National Premier League
